Actor Jonathan Majors, a rising Hollywood star, has been convicted of assaulting his former girlfriend, leading to Marvel Studios and Disney dropping him from upcoming projects, Associated Press reports.
The Manhattan jury found Majors guilty of one misdemeanor assault charge and one harassment violation related to a March altercation with ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari, who accused Majors of attacking her in a car.
The trial brought forth evidence of Majors’ troubled relationship with Jabbari, including text messages and audio recordings. The sentencing is set for February 6, with a potential jail term of up to a year.
Majors, known for his roles in “Loki” and “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” had been on track to become a key figure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but was dropped by Marvel Studios and Disney following the verdict.
