The film adaptation of Taylor Swift’s stadium tour, “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour,” has become one of the highest-grossing concert films in history, Bloomberg reports.
The film generated between $95 million and $97 million during its opening weekend in US and Canadian theaters, but fell short of the expected $105 million to $145 million.
The opening weekend sales of “The Eras Tour” surpassed any previous concert film, breaking records previously held by Justin Bieber and Michael Jackson.
Critics and fans alike have embraced the film, and it has garnered a perfect score of 100 on Rotten Tomatoes.
