Turkish Military Plane Crashes in Georgia, Killing All 20 on Board

A Turkish military C-130 Hercules cargo plane crashed on Tuesday in Georgia’s Sighnaghi municipality, near the Azerbaijan border.
All 20 personnel on board were killed, marking Turkey’s deadliest military accident since February 2020.
The aircraft had departed from Ganja, Azerbaijan, en route to Turkey, when contact was lost shortly after entering Georgian airspace. No distress signal was issued before the crash.
Turkish and Georgian authorities launched a joint investigation, with a Turkish accident team inspecting the crash site. The cause of the crash remains unknown.
The specific plane was 57 years old, added to Turkey’s Air Force inventory in 2010, and previously served in Saudi Arabia.
