Three individuals have been charged in connection to the death of One Direction singer Liam Payne, who fell from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires last month, Reuters reports.
Argentine authorities reported that Payne, 31, had traces of alcohol, cocaine, and a prescription antidepressant in his system at the time of his death. A hotel employee had called 911 on the day of his death, reporting aggressive behavior possibly due to drug and alcohol use. Those charged include an alleged drug dealer, a hotel worker suspected of supplying Payne with cocaine, and a person close to the singer, accused of “abandonment of a person followed by death.”
The investigation is ongoing, with authorities attempting to unlock Payne’s broken laptop to recover data as part of their inquiries.
