Rocker Bruce Springsteen endorsed Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris for the upcoming Nov. 5 election, joining a list of celebrities backing Harris against Republican former President Donald Trump, Reuters reports.
Springsteen, 75, praised Harris and her running mate Minnesota Governor Tim Walz for promoting an inclusive vision for the country and emphasized Harris’ commitment to economic policies benefiting all Americans, not just the wealthy. Springsteen, a longtime supporter of Democratic candidates, including Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, described Trump as “the most dangerous candidate” in his lifetime. Harris has also been endorsed by other high-profile celebrities such as Meryl Streep, Chris Rock, Oprah Winfrey, and Taylor Swift.
Despite widespread support from Hollywood, some Democrats worry that an overabundance of celebrity endorsements could create a perception of elitism, similar to what some felt hurt Clinton’s campaign in 2016.
