Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Arrested in New York, Charged with Sex Trafficking

Sean “Diddy” Combs has been indicted on federal charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and transporting female and male sex workers across state lines for prostitution, Reuters reports.

Prosecutors allege that Combs used his business empire, including Bad Boy Entertainment, to coerce women and male sex workers into demeaning sex acts, some of which were recorded and used for blackmail. The charges stem from allegations dating back at least 16 years, with Combs accused of using drugs, financial incentives, and career promises to lure victims, and threatening them with weapons and recordings to ensure silence. Prosecutors also claim that Combs used bribery and intimidation, including arson and kidnapping, to keep his actions secret.

Combs, 54, pleaded not guilty in court and could face a minimum 15-year prison sentence if convicted. His defense team is seeking his release on a $50 million bond, but prosecutors argue he remains a threat to the community and could obstruct justice.

This case follows a lawsuit last year from his ex-girlfriend, Cassie, accusing him of abuse, which was settled privately.
