YouTube Launches Global Crackdown on Ad Blockers

YouTube has expanded its efforts to combat ad-blockers, turning an experiment initiated in June into a global effort, Ars Technica reports.

Users employing ad-blockers in their browsers now receive disruptive prompts warning that ad-blockers violate YouTube’s Terms of Service. They are urged to either enable ads on YouTube or subscribe to YouTube Premium.

While some users can still watch videos with ad-blockers, others have reported being fully blocked by YouTube.

This move is part of YouTube’s effort to maintain ad revenue and encourage users to use the platform without ad-blockers.
