At least 2,000 people have been killed and thousands more missing after a devastating flood hit the city of Derna in eastern Libya, Reuters reports.
The Libyan National Army, which controls eastern Libya, reported 2,000 people dead and an estimated 5,000-6,000 individuals missing.
Storm Daniel, which had previously hit Greece, later hit Derna and other coastal settlements causing widespread destruction.
The disaster was triggered by the collapse of dams above Derna, which swept entire neighborhoods and their residents into the sea.
