Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez announced an additional €3.76 billion ($4.01 billion) in aid for recovery efforts in Valencia following deadly flash floods in late October that killed more than 220 people, Reuters reports.
This new aid supplements the previously announced €10.6 billion package. The recovery plan includes 110 measures aimed at cleaning streets, repairing infrastructure, and restoring homes and businesses. Key components include €500 million for mud removal, €200 million for farmers, and 12 months of mortgage relief for vulnerable households, adding to last week’s one-year moratorium. Additionally, the government will allocate 150 homes for affected families and €25 million will be used for housing purchases.
