Actor Danny Masterson, known for his role in “That ’70s Show,” has been sentenced to 30 years to life in prison for raping two women, Reuters reports.
Masterson was convicted in May and faced charges of drugging and raping the women in separate incidents between 2001 and 2003.
The women met Masterson through the Church of Scientology and described the religious organization as an “enabler and protector” for him.
The victims said the organization discouraged them from contacting law enforcement and intimidated them into silence.
The Church of Scientology denied these allegations, stating that religion should not have been an issue in the case.
