On Tuesday, Turkish police arrested 110 people over alleged ties to the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) militant group, Reuters reports.
The operation took place in Diyarbakir, a city with a large Kurdish population, where police detained politicians, lawyers and journalists.
Opponents have criticized the move as an abuse of power and an intimidation tactic ahead of the Turkish elections on May 14.
