Elon Musk’s brain chip company Neuralink is reportedly being investigated for alleged animal welfare violations, due to rushed animal testing causing needless suffering and deaths.
Since 2018, the company’s animal testing has cost around 1,500 animal lives, but the number is not indicative of malpractice for a medical company, according to Reuters.
However, employees are blaming Musk for some failed tests resulting in needless animal deaths, due to pressure from the CEO to accelerate research.
Last week, Musk said that Neuralink’s wireless brain chip was ready to begin human clinical trials in six months.
