On Wednesday, James Cameron released the official trailer for Avatar: The Way of Water, which will release on December 16 in the UK and US.
Avatar: The Way of Water is the sequel to Cameron’s 2009 sci-fi blockbuster Avatar, which became and remains the highest grossing film of all time.
The sequel takes place a decade later and tells the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri, and their kids), according to the official synopsis.
In 2017, Cameron started shooting the sequels for Avatar, starting with ‘The Way of Water,’ but also a third film in the series which will release in 2024.
Cameron is also working on a fourth and fifth film, for projected release in 2026 and 2028 respectively.
