WHO Declares Monkeypox a Global Health Emergency

The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the monkeypox outbreak a global health emergency.

Over 16,000 cases have been reported from 75 countries and five deaths so far, according to WHO Director General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
Although anybody can catch monkeypox, so far most of the cases have been among homosexual and bisexual males.

In the UK, there have been more than 2,000 confirmed cases.
Monkeypox does not spread as easily as Covid, and there is a vaccination available that provides good protection.
