On Monday, the world's population is expected to reach 8 billion on November 15, the UN forecast.
The report said India will overtake China as the world's most populated nation on earth in 2023.
"This is an occasion to celebrate our diversity, recognize our common humanity, and marvel at advancements in health that have extended lifespans and dramatically reduced maternal and child mortality rates."
- Antonio Guterres, UN Secretary General
The population should reach 8.5 billion in 2030 and 9.7 billion by 2050, before reaching a peak of 10.4 billion in the 2080s and staying there until 2100.
The analysis predict eight countries will account for more than half of the increase in global population over the next several decades.
Which include the Democratic Republic of Congo, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Nigeria, Pakistan, the Philippines and Tanzania.
