Overwatch 2 Will Launch in October as Free-to-Play

On Sunday, Activision Blizzard announced that Overwatch 2 would be released as a free-to-play game on October 4th.

The October "early access" launch contains the player-versus-player component of Overwatch 2.

Overwatch 2's mission-based PvE component has yet to get a release date.

At launch, the sequel will introduce two new characters: Sojourn and Junker Queen.

Overwatch 2 is coming to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.

The game will support cross-platform play and cross-platform progression.
