Moderna Says Omicron-Containing COVID Booster Outperforms Current Vaccine

On Wednesday, Moderna said that utilizing a new version of its Covid-19 vaccine as a booster resulted in a higher antibody response to the Omicron variation than its current shot.
The company aims to submit its data to the Food and Drug Administration in the following weeks.

The new booster expected to be released in late summer.
Moderna's booster, known as mRNA1273.214, is a bivalent vaccine, which means it contains mRNA coding for the spike protein for both the original and the newer Omicron strain.
