A 62-year-old man from Germany has received 217 doses of Covid vaccine against medical advice, the case was documented in The Lancet Infectious Diseases journal, BBC reports.
The shots were privately bought and administered over 29 months, with no apparent adverse effects. Researchers from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg conducted tests on the man’s immune system and found no signs of fatigue or infection. The public prosecutor investigated for fraud, but no charges were filed.
While cautioning against hyper-vaccination, the researchers recommend the standard approach of three doses, with additional vaccines for vulnerable groups as needed.
