Russia launched its largest drone attack since the war began, firing 479 drones along with 20 missiles, mostly targeting central and western regions of Ukraine. The Ukrainian air force reported intercepting around 460 drones and 19 missiles, with around 10 projectiles reaching their targets. One person was reported injured.
Russia’s Defense Ministry said one target was the Dubno military airfield in Rivne region, approximately 60 kilometers from the Polish border. The Polish Air Force deployed its aircraft to safeguard Polish airspace amid the escalation. This drone attack follows Ukraine’s own drone strikes on Russian airbases deep inside Russian territory, where Ukrainian forces reportedly damaged several Russian bombers.
Recent peace talks in Istanbul yielded no progress toward a ceasefire, but both sides did agree to a prisoner swap process this week, exchanging wounded and young conscripts under 25.
