Ukraine launched its largest-ever drone attack on Moscow early Tuesday, killing at least two people and injuring 18 others. The Russian Defense Ministry reported that air defenses intercepted 337 Ukrainian drones across 10 regions, including 91 over Moscow and 126 over Kursk. The attack briefly shut down Moscow’s four airports and caused damage to residential areas.
The attack coincided with U.S.-Ukraine peace talks in Saudi Arabia, where Kyiv is expected to propose a ceasefire. The U.S. has recently suspended military aid, intelligence sharing, and satellite access for Ukraine, aiming to pressure Kyiv into making concessions in negotiations. U.S. President Donald Trump, who has initiated direct talks with the Kremlin, has insisted Ukraine consider territorial concessions to end the war.
Meanwhile, Russia has continued its own offensives, launching missile and drone attacks on Ukrainian cities, killing and injuring civilians. Moscow has labeled Ukraine’s drone strikes as acts of terrorism and suggested retaliatory measures, including the use of advanced hypersonic missiles.
