“Anora,” a drama about a New York sex worker who impulsively marries a wealthy Russian client, dominated the Academy Awards on Sunday, winning five Oscars, including Best Picture. The film’s 25-year-old star, Mikey Madison, took home Best Actress, Sean Baker won Best Director, and the film also claimed awards for Best Original Screenplay and Editing.
Adrien Brody won his second Oscar for “The Brutalist,” while Zoe Saldana earned Best Supporting Actress for “Emilia Perez,” and Kieran Culkin won Best Supporting Actor for “A Real Pain.” The Israeli-Palestinian documentary “No Other Land” won Best Documentary, while Latvia’s “Flow” claimed Best Animated Feature, and Brazil’s “I’m Still Here” won Best International Feature.
