Music legend Elton John, 77, revealed to a London theatre audience on Sunday that he had lost his sight due to complications from an eye infection earlier this year, Reuters reports.
John, known for hits like “Tiny Dancer” and “Your Song,” attended the opening of the musical “The Devil Wears Prada,” for which he composed the score, and shared that he couldn’t see the performance but had enjoyed hearing it. He thanked his husband David Furnish for his support.
John, who has sold over 300 million records, expressed concerns about his health in a recent documentary, stating that his vision impairment has prevented him from working on new music. John remains positive and grateful for his life and family, but acknowledges his limited time.
