Italian rescue divers have found the body of the last missing person from the tragic sinking of British tech entrepreneur Mike Lynch’s luxury yacht off the coast of Sicily, Reuters reports.
The yacht, a 56-meter British-flagged sailboat, was carrying 22 passengers and crew anchored near the port of Porticello, close to Palermo, when it capsized and sank rapidly after being struck by a storm. Earlier in the week, the bodies of the other five passengers, including Mike Lynch, were recovered from the wreckage by a team of over 400 people, including 28 specialized divers. The final body, believed to be Hannah Lynch, was found inside the yacht, which rests at a depth of 50 meters.
The sinking of the yacht has led to a judicial investigation, as the circumstances surrounding the disaster have puzzled naval experts. The yacht, built by the high-end Italian yacht manufacturer Perini, was expected to withstand such a storm.
