Over 76,000 people have been evacuated from Russia’s Kursk region, which borders Ukraine, following a significant Ukrainian incursion, according to the local emergency ministry quoted by the Tass news agency, Reuters reports.
Russia is engaged in intense battles against thousands of Ukrainian troops who have penetrated up to 20 kilometers (12 miles) into the Kursk region. This marks Ukraine’s largest attack on Russian territory since the war began in 2022.
