Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has been placed on Russia’s wanted list, along with his predecessor Petro Poroshenko and Ukraine’s ground forces commander Gen. Oleksandr Pavlyuk, according to Russian state media, Associated Press reports.
The allegations against them were not disclosed by Russian officials. Ukraine’s foreign ministry dismissed the reports as part of Russian propaganda, emphasizing what it called “the desperation of the Russian state machine,” to discredit Ukrainian leadership.
The list also includes officials and lawmakers from Ukraine and NATO countries, such as Estonia’s Prime Minister Kaja Kallas, who has advocated for military aid to Ukraine and sanctions against Russia. Russia has accused Kallas of removing Soviet-era monuments in Estonia, citing laws criminalizing the “rehabilitation of Nazism,” which includes punishment for desecrating war memorials.
