Tesla is recalling 3,878 of its 2024 Cybertrucks due to a potential issue with the accelerator pedal becoming stuck, which could lead to unintended acceleration and increase the risk of a crash, Associated Press reports.
The problem arises from the accelerator pedal pad dislodging and becoming trapped by the interior trim. The recall affects Cybertrucks manufactured between November 13, 2023, and April 4, 2024. Tesla will replace or repair the accelerator pedal assembly for free, and owners can contact Tesla customer service for assistance.
Despite challenges in mass production, Tesla delivered the first batch of Cybertrucks to customers in November, with production delays compared to the original schedule. Tesla CEO Elon Musk acknowledged the challenges in mass production during the company’s third-quarter conference call.
