Alaska Airlines Resumes Flying Boeing 737 MAX 9 After Inspections

Alaska Airlines has completed inspections on the first group of its Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft, allowing the carrier to resume some MAX 9 operations after an in-flight cabin blowout earlier in the month, Reuters reports.

The inspections, approved by the Federal Aviation Administration, are expected to be completed on all MAX 9s by the end of next week. The first MAX 9 returned to service with Alaska Airlines on Flight 1146 from Seattle to San Diego.

Boeing Commercial Airlines President Stan Deal mentioned ongoing efforts to evaluate employee-submitted ideas for quality improvements and emphasized the company’s commitment to regaining customer and public confidence.
