South Korean actor Lee Sun-Kyun, best known for his role in the Oscar-winning film “Parasite,” was found dead in a car in Seoul following a police investigation into his alleged drug use, Associated Press reports.
Police discovered Lee in an unconscious state in the car, and emergency personnel later confirmed his death. His family had reported him missing, stating that he left a message resembling a suicide note.
The 48-year-old actor had been under police investigation for alleged drug use at the residence of a bar hostess. However, Lee insisted he was unaware of the drugs and was tricked into taking the substances. Lee sued two individuals, including the hostess, for blackmail.
Lee played a key role in “Parasite,” which won multiple Oscars, including Best Picture, in 2020. Before this, Lee had a successful acting career in South Korea with notable roles in TV dramas like “Coffee Prince” and “My Mister.”
