The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) reportedly conducted an operation that detonated explosives on a Siberian railway line used by Russia for military supplies, Reuters reports.
The incident occurred in the Severomuysky Tunnel in the Buryatia region, near the Mongolian border. The source claimed that four explosive devices were detonated as a cargo train passed through.
Russia acknowledged a train catching fire in the area but made no mention of explosives, stating that a train carrying fuel caught fire, causing no casualties.
If confirmed, this would signify Ukraine’s capacity to conduct operations deep within Russia, over 4,000 km from Ukraine.
