Tesla has filed a lawsuit against the Swedish Transport Agency and the postal service, alleging that postal workers blocked deliveries of license plates in solidarity with striking workers, CNBC reports.
Swedish unions have been pressuring Tesla with strikes and blockades due to the company’s refusal to sign a collective bargaining agreement with employees in its service division.
Tesla claims that the Swedish government has a “constitutional obligation to provide registration plates to vehicle owners.” The lawsuit states that the license plate seizure is a “discriminatory attack” on Tesla.
The company delivered 9,167 cars to Sweden in 2022, and the Model Y is reportedly the best-selling car in the country in 2023.
