Truth Social Sues 20 Media Outlets Over Alleged False Loss Reports

Trump Media & Technology Group Corp. (TMTG), the parent company of Truth Social, has filed a lawsuit seeking $1.5 billion in damages from 20 news organizations that reported inaccurately that Truth Social had lost $73 million, Bloomberg reports.

The outlets, including the Guardian and Reuters, had reported the incorrect financial figure based on a regulatory filing by merger partner Digital World Acquisition Corporation. Some outlets later posted corrections, stating that they had miscounted a $50.5 million profit as a loss.

The lawsuit accuses the news outlets of a “deliberate, malicious, and coordinated attack” against Truth Social. TMTG lawyers argue that the simultaneous reporting of the $73 million figure suggests a coordinated campaign.
