Elon Musk Threatens Lawsuit Against Media Watchdog

Elon Musk, the CTO of X (formerly Twitter), announced plans to file a lawsuit against Media Matters and those involved in what he called a “fraudulent attack” on the social media platform, CNBC reports.

This comes after Media Matters published a report revealing mainstream brands’ ads on X were running alongside user posts with pro-Nazi views. Advertisers, including Apple, Disney, IBM, and others, decided to temporarily halt their ad spending on the platform in response.

Musk criticized large advertisers and Media Matters, accusing them of collusion in a “fraudulent attack.” Media Matters stated they would win if a lawsuit were filed, emphasizing that their reporting was accurate, as Musk admitted the ads ran alongside the pro-Nazi content.
