Former British Home Secretary Suella Braverman criticized Prime Minister Rishi Sunak in a resignation letter, accusing his leadership as “uncertain, weak,” and betraying promises, AP News reports.
Braverman claimed Sunak had failed to deliver on key pledges and alleged he never intended to keep them. She accused Sunak of weak leadership as the country faces the threat of radicalization and extremism.
She also criticized Sunak’s lack of a “Plan B” if the Supreme Court blocks the government’s plan to send asylum-seekers to Rwanda and accused him of betraying promises on international rights agreements.
Braverman was dismissed by Sunak after making statements that deviated from the government line, including referring to homelessness as a “lifestyle choice” and criticizing police leniency in pro-Palestinian protests.
