French Police Shoot Woman Who Shouted ‘Allah Akbar’ in Paris Metro

Paris police shot and critically wounded a woman wearing a hijab who was behaving threateningly and shouting “Allahu Akbar” and “You’re all going to die” in a metro station, Reuters reports.

The woman was shot at the Bibliotheque François-Mitterrand station after commuters reported her making aggressive, Jihadist comments. Police initially asked her to calm down and show her hands, but ultimately opened fire due to the danger of the situation.

The woman was shot in the abdomen and taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Despite her threats, it was revealed that the woman was not in possession of explosives at the time she was shot.

France is on high alert following the recent murder of a schoolteacher in a suspected Islamist attack, which officials have linked to a “Jihadist atmosphere” related to the Israel-Gaza conflict.
