3 Dead After a Shooting at a University Hospital and Home in Rotterdam

A Gunman opened fire killing three people, including a 14-year-old girl, at an apartment and a hospital in Rotterdam, AP News reports.

The gunman first killed a 39-year-old woman and seriously injured her 14-year-old daughter, who later succumbed to her injuries, at an apartment near his residence.

He then proceeded to the nearby Erasmus Medical Center, where he killed a 43-year-old man, a teacher at the academic hospital, and set fires at both shooting scenes.

Police arrested the shooter, a 32-year-old student from Rotterdam, at the hospital while carrying a firearm.

Authorities have not yet released his identity, and the motive for the shootings remains under investigation.
