Armed mobs attacked churches and homes in Jaranwala, Punjab province, accusing two Christian residents of blasphemy, Al Jazeera reports.
Hundreds of people armed with batons and sticks attacked the Salvation Army Church and the Saint Paul Catholic Church and setting them ablaze.
Meanwhile, another mob stormed private homes, damaging their properties, breaking windows and setting some on fire.
The controversy began after torn pages of the Quran with alleged blasphemous content were found near the Christian colony.
Police have taken legal measures to control the situation and filed a report against the Christian residents under Pakistan’s blasphemy laws.
