Tory Lanez Sentenced to 10 Years in Prison for Shooting Megan Thee Stallion

Rapper Tory Lanez has been sentenced to 10 years in prison by a Los Angeles judge for the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion, Variety reports.

He was found guilty on three felony firearm counts, including assault with a semiautomatic firearm, negligent discharge of a firearm, and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle.

Prosecutors had sought a 13-year sentence, citing violations of pre-trial court orders and alleging a campaign to humiliate and re-traumatize Megan Thee Stallion.

Lanez’s legal team asked for probation or a three-year prison term, emphasizing his alcohol addiction and childhood trauma.
