“Barbie” has surpassed $1 billion in global box office sales within just two and a half weeks of its release, Deutsche Welle reports.
The film has garnered $549 million in domestic ticket sales and an additional $572.1 million internationally since its debut on July 21.
This accomplishment sets a new record for Greta Gerwig, who becomes the first female solo director to achieve this billion-dollar milestone.
