NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg will remain in office and continue to lead the 31-nation military alliance for another year, AP News reports.
Stoltenberg has held the position since 2014 and his term was due to expire last year, but it was extended due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
Despite a desire among NATO countries to appoint a woman to the role, no agreement could be reached on a new candidate.
