On Sunday, Thailand’s two main opposition parties secured a victory in the general election, according to preliminary results, Deutsche Welle reports.
The Move Forward Party (MFP) won 151 seats while the Pheu Thai party took 141 seats in the 500-seat lower house.
A party or a coalition requires 376 votes to form a new government. The MFP leader Pita Limjaroenrat said he is looking to form a six-party coalition.
