A US court has found British singer Ed Sheeran not guilty for copyright infringement of Marvin Gae’s “Let’s Get It On,” Al Jazeera reports.
The heirs of Marvin Gaye’s co-writer claim that Sheeran’s song “Thinking Out Loud” copied a four-chord sequence.
Sheeran argued that the four-chord sequence had been used in a number of songs before Gaye’s hit in 1973.
Sheeran had previously said he would quit his music career if found guilty at the trial in New York, BBC reports.
