On Wednesday, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke over the phone, AP News reports.
Xi reportedly told Zelensky that “Negotiation is the only viable way out,” and that China will send a peace envoy to Ukraine to discuss with all parties.
Zelensky confirms the phone call, which is the first conversation between the two leaders since Russia launched its invasion of Ukraine.
