The Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) and National Public Radio (NPR) are leaving Twitter after being labeled as government-backed media, reports Bloomberg.
Twitter CEO Elon Musk cites that NPR receives US government funding and defends the decision by writing on Twitter “Defund NPR”.
The organization called the description inaccurate as it’s a nonprofit group with editorial independence and only gets a fraction of its funding from federal agencies.
