European Leaders Visit China Seeking Breakthrough in Ukraine War

French President Emmanuel Macron and European Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen will travel to China for a three-day visit, reports CNN.

On Wednesday, Macron with a delegation of around 50 business leaders arrived in Beijing to meet China’s Xi Jinping to discuss trade.

A key aim of the visit is for Macron and von der Leyen to hold talks with Xi and push for a peaceful solution to end the war.

China is seen as a key player due to its ties with Russia, but has claimed neutrality in the conflict and not condemned Russia’s invasion.
