Ukraine’s Interior Minister Denys Monastyrsky, 42, has died alongside his first deputy minister and state secretary in a helicopter crash.
Fourteen people including a child died when the helicopter crashed beside a nursery in Brovary, an eastern suburb in the capial of Kyiv.
Monastyrsky was one of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s longest serving political advisers and is the highest profile Ukrainian casualty in the war.
The incident appears to be an accident, but the SBU state security services are investigating several possible causes for the crash.
