On Saturday, Twitter said it will relaunch its subscription service Twitter Blue, which will cost $8 a month for web users and $11 a month for iPhone users.
Subscribers will have access to special features including fewer ads, option to post longer videos and have their tweets featured more prominently.
The blue checkmark was originally given to businesses, celebrities, government officials and journalists who had been verified by the platform.
Elon Musk launched the service after he acquired Twitter for $44 billion, but had to shut it down after the platform was overrun by fake impersonating accounts.
