Russian President Vladimir Putin is considering adding the possibility of a nuclear first strike to its military doctrine, similar to US strategies of a preventive strike.

On Wednesday, Putin stated that the risk of atomic warfare is rising and that Russia’s arsenal is “a deterrent factor” in conflicts.
The US and its allies accuses Putin of nuclear saber-rattling and escalating the situation in Ukraine.
