Former Pakistan PM Imran Khan Shot in Lower Leg

On Thursday, former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan suffered minor injuries to his lower leg after a gunman opened fire at his convoy.

The attack occurred during Khan’s “long march,” traveling from the regional capital of Lahore in the Punjab province, towards the capital of Islamabad.

The former PM was quickly taken to the hospital in Lahore, where the doctor treating Khan later confirmed that his condition was stable.

One person died and nine were injured in the attack, and the gunman was taken into custody. Pakistan’s Interior Ministry has opened an investigation as no group has claimed responsibility.

In April, Khan was ousted from power after losing a no-confidence vote in the parliament. The former PM alleges that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif orchestrated his removal.
