At least 151 people, mostly women and young people in their 20s, were killed in a stampede during Halloween celebrations in South Korea’s capital, Seoul.

On Saturday, a huge crowd flooded a narrow alley in the entertainment district of Itaewon, crushing 151 people and injuring another 82.
Footage on social media showed the aftermath, with rescue workers and citizens performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on victims scattered on the streets.
There are nineteen foreigners among the casualties from Iran, Uzbekistan, China and Norway.
It was Seoul’s first Halloween celebration in three years after the country lifted COVID-19 restrictions and social distancing.
