On Thursday, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko issued an order prohibiting price hikes, claiming that the government is “unable to manage the wave of rising prices.”

Starting Thursday, any price increase must be personally approved by a minister or a regional head, violators could face criminal charges, according to state-run Belta news agency.
Lukashenko told government officials that inflation in Belarus is expected to reach 19% this year, according to a video posted by Pul Pervogo Telegram channel.
